Accuracy

Corrections and updates

If you think a page is inaccurate or out of date, tell us. We review evidence-led reports and correct substantive errors transparently.

How to report a possible error

Use the contact method published on our contact page. Include the page URL, the exact statement you believe is wrong, why it matters and a link to the relevant primary source, preferably GOV.UK. Screenshots can help identify a display issue, but an official live source is more useful for checking immigration content.

Please do not send passports, visa documents, full travel histories or other sensitive personal information. We cannot investigate or advise on an individual application through a correction request.

What happens next

  1. We log the report and check whether it identifies a factual, calculation, source-link or accessibility problem.
  2. For immigration content, we compare the page with the relevant official material, including dates and transition provisions where relevant.
  3. If a substantive error is confirmed, we amend the page and update its review information as appropriate.
  4. If the point is uncertain, disputed or depends on personal facts, we may clarify the limit rather than make an unsupported claim.

We do not guarantee a response time or publish private correspondence. We may decline requests that ask us to provide case-specific legal advice, remove accurate general information, or rely only on unverified social-media claims.

Our correction standard

A correction should make the page more accurate, not conceal the reason a reader may have been misled. Material changes may be explained in the page’s review language or update context. Minor typography, formatting and broken-link repairs may be made without a separate notice. Our methodology explains how we label rules, proposals and unknowns; our sources page lists the primary material we use.

ILR Calculator UK is an independent planning service, not the Home Office, a law firm or a regulated immigration advice provider. For an urgent application issue, seek appropriate professional help rather than waiting for a website update.
